John D. Ericsson – Chief Executive Officer, Director, Inventor

Mr. Ericsson, is the inventor of the SolarMagnatron™ patented technology.  He has considerable expertise in a wide range of industry ranging from oil and gas operations, cogeneration, fish farming and algae systems development.  He founded AlgaStar, Inc. in 2012 as the licensed commercial developer of his 2013, patented technology.  Since 1995, he has served as the founder and  managing director of Gulf Marine Institute of Technology, a publicly and federally supported nonprofit marine research institute [501(c)3], which has received numerous equipment and research grants for aquaculture development.  From 1979 to 1989, Mr. Ericsson was an independent consultant advising in the fields of energy, cogeneration and marine aquaculture to various companies and institutions in the United States. Over the years, he has raised several millions in funding for numerous projects through investors, donations, and federal funding. These include hydrocarbon exploration and development, offshore sea farming systems and marine species for research and commercial development.

Mr. Ericsson received a B.S. degree in Business Management and Marketing from the University of Tulsa in 1974.  He is listed in Who’s Who of American Inventors 1996-1998, holding United States patents for the Sea Trek Ocean Farming System and the Sea Star Oyster Relay System and most recently US patent # 8,569,050 titled “Bioreactor System and Related Bio-Stimulation Methods” . He has been a member of the World Aquaculture Society and the Aquacultural Engineering Society and has been honored by the Massachusetts House of Representatives for “his outstanding contributions to the fishing industry.” Mr. Ericsson was featured in the October 23, 1995, issue of Forbes Magazine in the Science and Technology section. Mr. Ericsson and AlgaStar Inc was recenly selected to speak at the 2013, Algae Biomass Summit on the topic of ” Increasing Algal Biomass Production using Electro-magnetic Bio-stimulation”.

Justin D. Ericsson – Vice President of Finance and Marketing, Interim Director

Mr. Ericsson, age 36, received a B.S. in Business Management and Finance from the Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Mr. Ericsson’s professional background combines extensive experience in software development, marketing, real estate, and creative financing for emerging companies.

Mr. Ericsson is currently the co-Founder and Managing Partner of Profit From Rentals, LLC, a successful turnkey cash flow real estate company with over forty million dollars in managed or sold real estate assets in Chicago Illinois over the last 5 years.  Mr. Ericsson through his operations in the low income Chicago housing market has provided numerous local jobs and affordable housing for hundreds of tenants in one of the hardest hit economic communities in the Midwest.  Mr. Ericsson’s achievements have been recognized in the Chicago community with a recent nomination to serve as a board member for the Chicago Housing Authority, which is the 2nd largest federal government funded housing program in the United States. In addition to co-founding Profit From Rentals, LLC, Mr. Ericsson has successfully managed the acquisition, sales and marketing of over $100 million in real estate assets across the united states, owned and sold several successful technology companies and created a name for himself as a visionary entrepreneur with a highly trained eye for opportunity.

Adam J. Morgan – Technical Advisor, Director

Mr. Morgan, age 47, has over 22 years of experience in legal and business roles. Mr. Morgan has served, since January 2009, as Vice President General Counsel & Business Development and Secretary of Dyadic International, Inc. (OTC Pink: DYAI), a global biotechnology company.  Dyadic uses its patented and proprietary technologies for the discovery, development, manufacture and sale of enzymes and other proteins for the bioenergy, bio-based chemicals, biopharmaceutical and industrial enzyme industries. From December 2004 until October 2008, Mr. Morgan served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Secretary of Advance Publishers, L.C., a private distributor of licensed books and accessories in Maitland, Florida, and Executive Vice President and Secretary from December 2003 to November 2004.  From May 1996 to August 2003, Mr. Morgan served in various legal and business positions for Rexall Sundown, Inc., a publicly-traded and, later, private manufacturer and distributor of vitamins and nutritional supplements.  From July 2001 until August 2003, Mr. Morgan served as Rexall’s Vice President New Business Development and from May 1996 until July 2001 served in various legal positions of increasing responsibility including, most recently, as Vice President-Legal Affairs and Assistant General Counsel.  From 1990 until 1996, Mr. Morgan practiced law for several private law firms where he specialized in general corporate and securities law.  Mr. Morgan earned his B.A. degree from Duke University in 1986 and his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1990. He is admitted to practice law in the states of Connecticut, Florida and New York.
